Who where when?

1st Claremont is a Scout group in Claremont, Cape Town, South Africa.

• We are open to boys and girls age 10 1/2 to 17.
• Our hall is at 17 Bowwood Road, Claremont. Next to the old bowling club, if you know where that is...
• We meet every Thursday night during term time from 7 to 9 p.m. Yes, we know most Scouts meet on Fridays, but we like to be different!

Why are we a great place to be a Scout ?

Because we are, OK! And because we take our fun seriously and give you the real Scouting experience.

And also because we're the oldest Scout group in South Africa, doing great Scouting since 1908. You can read more about that at History of 1st Claremont Scouts.

How do I join?

If you'd like to join, contact us and come along to a meeting one Thursday night to see if you like it. You'll be very welcome. If you decide to stay, you can be invested as a Scout after 4-6 weeks.

You can join from age 10 1/2. Unfortunately there are no Cubs at 1st Claremont, so for younger boys and girls between age 7 and 10, there are many other groups for those ages. Contact the Western Cape Scout HQ to get in touch with those groups.
