Mahikeng Scouting Heritage Relief Camporee

Programme

The camp programme is to be categorized into five (5) aspects which are as follows:

Scouting exhibition

Take part in the showcasing of fine & creative art and scouting skills through performances & exhibitions of activity programmes i.e. pioneering gadgets display, karaoke, graffiti and e.t.c in public parks, bridges, malls and complexes parking lots. (International, National and districts Scouts/Guides are requested to prepare their exhibitions for the day)

Infrastructural development project

Contribute in the construction of the newly developed District campsite which in future will serve as a home for all Scouts and Guides visiting Mahikeng, or help out in the renovation, revamping and updating of the Scouts archive wall which form one of the most important highlighted sections of the Mahikeng museum. (International, National and District Scouts/Guides are humbly requested to donate Scarves, badges, literature and/or any other materials/equipments relevant for Scouting/Guiding archiving and campsite development)

Community outreach programmes

Play sports games with local communities, and contribute in "creating a better world"by helping out at community based medical, educational and social welfare institutions i.e. hospitals,clinics,home based cares, old aged homes and schools. (International, National and district Scouts/Guides also welcomed to suggest their anticipated community outreach programmes)

Agricultural and environmental awareness projects

Be part of the Climate change, water sanitation and food security projects which also contribute to "creating a better world" to communities, by planting fruit trees and vegetable gardens (International, National and district Scouts/Guides also welcomed to suggest their anticipated community outreach programmes)

On-campsite activities

Have fun, test your skills and ability to work as a team while strengthening friendships by participating in on site activities as:

  • competitions (e.g. cooking, knotting and e.t.c)
  • Ultimate challenges and teambuilding activities.
  • Games (e.g. handicapped awareness, survival, outdoors, indigenous) (international, National and district Scouts/Guides also welcomed to contribute programmes/ideas pertaining to these activities)

Excursion tours

Choose between

  • Paying an international overnight visit to the neighboring Botswana.
  • Splendid overnight wildlife safari tour at local game and nature reserves.
  • Learning about the history and Culture of Mahikeng through the famous B.P trail.
