South African Scouts summit Everest - on 21 and 23 May,
two South African Scouts, John Black of 1st Discovery and
Robby Kojetin of 1st Germiston in Gauteng, successfully reached
the top of Mount Everest.

Scouts Support Earth Hour 2009
At 8.30p.m. on 28 March 2009, towns and cities across the
world turned off their lights for one hour sending a powerful
global message that it is possible to take action on global
warming. Scouts signed up to participate.

First
550 Scouts earn World Scout Environment Badge - Fourteen
local Scout Groups and Scout Centres from nine countries around
the world (including South Africa) were given the special
task of testing the curriculum content and programme activities
for the World Scout Environment Badge.
